Ouidah, Benin

In the Summer of 2019 I traveled to Ouidah, Benin to apprentice under a master sculptor to learn traditional Benin wood sculpture. While there I traveled to several cultural sites including La Route Des Esclaves, Fondation Zinsou and the Door of No Return to learn more about Benin history and visited artists studios in Cotonou, Benin. During my time there I created a Yoruba sculpture with the assistance of my teacher DJ.
