Episode 1: What HOAP is all about

Sharing the ways we honor our ancestral practices through food, travel art and community

Whether we’re being guided by Spirit or seeking to get closer to our cultural lineage, there is much to learn from our ancestral practices and I’m here to share my personal experiences of doing just that. I’ll also be sharing some things to consider and some lessons I’ve learned along the way.

As a creative, I’m interested in all things food, art and community through an African diasporic lens. I come from a family of farmers from Léogâne, Haiti and I grew up eatin’ real good! I’ve had the opportunity to travel to several countries to learn traditional art practices and by art I mean both visual and culinary. I’ve recognized that I’m here to reconnect, share and continuously learn from the people in my life about what it means to honor our cultural traditions and how we incorporate them into our lives.
