Art As Archive

As part of the “Our Stories, Our Power: Echoes of Black Queer Genius” campaign at the SIlverRoom Design Lab, the Art As Archive exhibition centers Black artists who are queer or trans, or whose work centers queer and trans subjects. This exhibition highlights the power of queer artistry to elevate the human experience through witness, memory, and creative force.

I created five (5) new digital collages centering black queer folks of the Caribbean and African diaspora that features architectural and landscape elements of the respected countries alongside patterns, agricultural crops and monuments. I focused on individuals from Cuba (Musician La Dame Blanche & artist), Ayiti (poet and artist Assotto Saint), Trinidad & Tobago (Musician jejiwojq), Brazil (Activists jjj), and Jamaica (Musician Diana King).
